Italian Real Estate & Relocation Translation | Sworn in Italy | Natalia Bertelli

Buying Property or Moving to Italy? Your Sworn Translator Is Already There.

Every Italian property transaction and visa application requires documents sworn by a translator physically based in Italy. Natalia works directly with Italian notaries, banks, and authorities on behalf of buyers and expats in the US and UK.
Italian notaries will not proceed without sworn translations of your foreign documents.

The notaio who handles your property purchase is legally responsible for the transaction's validity. By law, they must have all foreign-language documents translated into Italian by a sworn translator based in Italy before the rogito (deed of sale) can be signed. A translation done abroad — even apostilled — simply can't be obtained, when all the documents you need are in Italy.

Before you buy — mortgage pre-approval
Italian banks require sworn translations of your financial documents: tax returns, payslips, bank statements, pension or investment income letters. Even cash buyers benefit from having translations ready early.

The preliminary agreement — compromesso
The compromesso is a binding contract. Any English-language document exchanged at this stage must be accompanied by a sworn Italian translation. Natalia reviews the full package and flags anything that needs attention before you sign.

The notarial deed — rogito
Your Italian notary requires sworn translations of all your foreign documents before this appointment can proceed. Natalia can also provide interpretation — in person in Italy or via Zoom — so you understand every clause before you sign.

Visa and residency applications
The Italian elective residence visa requires sworn translations of financial proof documents, property agreements, and health insurance certificates. Natalia covers the full range of Italian long-stay visa categories.

After you arrive
Residency registration, school enrolment, drivers' licence exchange, medical certificates, lease renewals — administrative life in Italy continues to require translation support.

Interpretation at the notary — required by Italian law.

Italian law requires a qualified interpreter to be present at notarial deeds when one of the parties does not speak Italian.

Natalia provides in-person interpretation at property signings in Veneto, reviewing all documents ahead of the appointment and making sure you understand every clause before committing.

For property viewings, negotiations with agents, and general questions, phone support is available across time zones.
